Wire Birds & Workshops

Hey folks now that I have a blog I can share with you all my creative ideas, upcoming events and anything else exciting that is happening to Hippystitch(me).

So firstly I would like to tell you about my most recent creations...
I have been working with wire to create some little birds with comfy nests where they can live when they are not being worn as brooches (which is what they are). I have created them for a workshop that I will be running later in the year. I even made one using sheep's fleece found on a walk in the Lake District!

Talking of workshops I am holding one soon at Bar Lane Studios in York (UK)so feel free to come along and learn how to upcycle your old woollen jumpers, scarves or blankets into flower brooches. Upcycling is similar to recycling - taking something and reworking it - but with upcycling you are turning it into something different (and hopefully something you like much better).

Only basic sewing skills are needed. All materials will be provided. There will be a small charge of £8 for the first brooch made and £5 for any subsequent ones. It is a drop in session from 11am-4pm.
