Three Peaks

Reflections at Pen-y-ghent Cafe
Walked up the Three Peaks at the weekend - that's Pen-y-ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales.  It only took 11.5 hours.  Here's an alternative view.......

An unusual patchwork project in the making perhaps?

and back to the beginning!

We had just the right amount of sunshine and breezy conditions to help us on our way.  Perfect!

Icelandic Fish Leather

Fish Leather

Gullfoss
Strokkur
Had a fab trip to Iceland recently - great geysers, waterfalls, geothermal pools, colourful houses - lots of inspiration and fish leather!  In fact fish leather in every colour imaginable.  I chose a couple of blues.  Love the touch of sparkle on the scales! I might make some brooches out of these - what do you think?

Robins in my garden

When's tea time?

It's so exciting!  After 7 years in our garden, the nesting box my daughter constructed and lovingly painted has finally got some residents.  We have a family of robins with three hungry babies who seem to need constant feeding.

Food at last!

This is doubly exciting because we don't even usually see robins in our garden at all!

We're still hungry!

They are very close to the house so we have our meals and watch them having theirs.

Maybe my knitted wire birds would like a colouful bird house.

Jubilee Jewellery

Jubilee inspired brooches, bracelets & necklace
Are you getting jubilant yet? Not very long to go now.  Have been asked to make some jubilee jewellery and here it is - positively patriotic & more subtle than flag waving.  Did you know there's even an official Diamond Jubilee website so there's no excuse not to be in the know!

Flowers Ahoy!

Flower Hairclips

Louise & Milly sporting their brooches
Thanks to all those who came to my workshop on Saturday and all those who stopped to chat and see what we were up to.  I got a chance to make a few hairclips whilst showing people what to do.
Here's Louise and Milly wearing their brooches.

Getting Ready for My Workshop

A Rainbow of Fabric
I'm just getting everything together for my Upcycled Flower Brooch workshop tomorrow.  I've been dyeing some fabric this week so there's a nice range of colours - don't they look great all piled up together.  Also there's lots of colourful buttons.  (Had to eat a lot of pesto to get all those jars!)
