Suggested yarn - Double knitting and
4mm (imperial size 8) needles (use smaller needles for a tighter knit)
Dorsal (top) Fin
Cast on 24 stitches

R3 - K2 together across the row (12 stitches)
R4 & R5 – Knit
R6 – As R3 (6 stitches)
R7 & R8 – Knit
Cast off
Pectoral (side) Fins
Knit 2 of these, one for each side of your fish.
Cast on 20 stitches
R1 - KnitR2 - Knit
R3 - K2 together across the row (12 stitches)
R4 & R5 – Knit
R6 – As R3 (6 stitches)
R7 & R8 – Knit
Cast off

Making up
Position your fins on your fish and stitch in place using the cast off tail. Weave in the cast on tail and trim.
Other Fin Suggestions
1. Felt - you could cut fin shapes out of felt and stitch them into position.
2. Crochet - you could crochet some fins.
3. Knit - you could pick up some stitches and knit out some fins.
